These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Barter, including website pages, forms, chat, media uploads, and any related services (collectively, the "Platform"). By creating an account, posting content, or using the Platform, you agree to these Terms.

1. Platform Role and No Seller Liability

Barter is a classifieds/marketplace platform only. We are not the buyer, not the seller, not an agent, and not a party to transactions between users.

All deals are direct between buyer and seller, including pricing, inspection, delivery, payment, warranties, and after-sale issues.
We do not own, store, manufacture, inspect, certify, or guarantee products/services listed by users.
We are not responsible for product quality, safety, legality, authenticity, fitness, title, or any loss/damage arising from user transactions.
Users must perform their own due diligence before paying or handing over goods.

2. Eligibility and Account Responsibility

You must provide accurate information and keep it updated.
You are responsible for all activity under your account and credentials.
You must protect your password/OTP and immediately report unauthorized use.
We may require email or phone/WhatsApp verification before using certain features.

3. User Content and License

You remain responsible for all content you upload/post (text, photos, videos, contact details, profile data, offers, and chat messages). By posting content, you grant us a non-exclusive license to host, display, process, moderate, and distribute your content as needed to operate and secure the Platform.

The following is prohibited, including attempts, facilitation, or disguised versions:

Illegal goods/services, controlled drugs/narcotics, prescription misuse, or regulated items without lawful authorization.
Weapons, explosives, ammunition, weapon parts, instructions for harm, and violent-threat content.
Terrorism, extremist material, recruitment, glorification of violence, or any support for prohibited organizations.
Pornography, sexual exploitation, nudity intended for sexual purposes, obscene material, or sexually explicit services.
Hate speech, slurs, abusive/bad language targeted at protected groups, harassment, intimidation, blackmail, or threats.
Fraud, scams, impersonation, phishing, fake payment proofs, fake reviews, forged documents, or stolen goods.
Counterfeit products, intellectual-property infringement, or unauthorized branded replicas.
Misleading listings, false pricing, bait-and-switch, wrong location/category, or manipulated media.
Collection or sale of personal data, doxxing, stalking, or any privacy-invasive activity.
Malware, scraping, bots, reverse engineering, security probing, or attempts to disrupt Platform operations.

5. Moderation, Enforcement, and Reporting

We may use automated systems and manual review to detect abuse and policy violations. We may, with or without prior notice:

refuse, unpublish, remove, or edit listings/content;
limit visibility, messaging, posting, or account features;
suspend or permanently ban accounts/devices/sessions;
preserve evidence for audit, legal, and safety purposes.

6. Cooperation With Law Enforcement and Authorities

If we believe content or behavior may violate law, safety standards, or valid legal process, we may preserve and share relevant data with competent authorities, regulators, courts, or legal counsel as required or permitted by applicable law.

This may include account identifiers, listing history, IP/device logs, messages metadata/content, uploaded media, and transaction-related records.
Users may be personally liable for unlawful posts or transactions.

7. Payments, Promotions, and Third-Party Services

Paid promotions, external processors, and integrated communication channels may be subject to additional third-party terms. We are not liable for failures, delays, chargebacks, or service interruptions caused by third-party providers.

8. Disclaimers

The Platform is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, uninterrupted availability, and accuracy of user-generated content.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Barter, its owners, officers, employees, and affiliates are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive, or exemplary damages, including lost profits, data loss, reputational harm, personal disputes, fraud by users, injury, or property loss arising from Platform use or user transactions.

10. Indemnity

You agree to defend and indemnify Barter from any claim, demand, dispute, fine, or loss arising from your content, your transactions, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of law/third-party rights.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access at our discretion for abuse, legal risk, security threats, or policy violations. Clauses about liability, indemnity, enforcement, and legal cooperation survive termination.

12. Policy Updates

We may update these Terms to reflect legal, security, product, or operational changes. Continued use after updates constitutes acceptance of revised Terms.
